» Tianjin Binhai Water Group Ltd
The Tianjin Binhai Water (Group) Co., Ltd. ("Binhai") is located in the New Binhai area of Tianjin and is one of the largest water suppliers in Tianjin. It operates 4 water plants and 8 pipelines (total distance of 500 km) which supplies over 242 million cubic meters per year to the New Binhai area.Unlike the majority of China, Binhai has already started utilizing advanced domestic and foreign technology and equipment. This is typical for New Binhai because the area often serves as the “role model” for the rest of China as a demonstration/pilot site for new, state-of-the art technologies in many fields.
To ensure water supply safety,in addition to strict management,Binhai water plant has implemented advanced water quality technology in order to monitor physical and chemical indicators (such as pH, redox, etc.) in accordance with the relevant national regulations and standards. However, traditional lab analysis is still used to analyze the microbiological indicators to follow the national regulation standards. The traditional periodic sampling and manual monitoring methods increase a significant risk of microbial-contamination in the water supply, which cannot meet the requirements of the revised standards for drinking water quality implemented in 2007 allowing no E.coli bacteria in drinking water. The implication is that a real-time system is needed to fulfill the governmental standards. Therefore, Binhai felt it necessary to implement an on-line based monitoring system for real-time detection of microbial contaminants in the water quality. Upon learning about Predect’s technology, the buying decision was easily made by Binhai.
